A storm system that made its way through the West Lake area last week has prompted residents in the village of Westlake to ask, “Is this a windy day?”
The West Lake Area Regional Weather Service said on Sunday that a storm system made its move through the area over the weekend and it is possible to see the “snow and rain that is typical of the summer.”
It was forecast that temperatures could reach the high 80s and winds were expected to reach 40 to 50 mph.
Residents are asking for any weather conditions to be reported to the West Lakes Regional Weather Services, which is located in the same village as the Weather Channel.
Residents can also call 911 for help, but they are not required to do so.
Residents said they would rather get through the day and see the weather than wait for a storm to make landfall.
“We don’t want to wait for it to happen,” said John Tullock, who lives in the town.
“It’s a pretty scary thing to be honest.”
The Weather Channel said it has been providing live weather updates through social media.
The WeatherChannel also posted a video showing a small cloud rolling over the Westville neighborhood of West Lake on Sunday afternoon.
